You will apply your scholarly expertise to develop content that reflects the complexity and breadth of Western civilization from ancient Greece and Rome through the modern era.
Role Responsibilities
- Historical Content Development: Analyze, synthesize, and contextualize historical events, movements, and cultural developments across Western civilization.
- Interdisciplinary Expertise: Draw connections across history, philosophy, literature, art, and political thought to create comprehensive and nuanced content.
- Domain Knowledge: Provide insights into major historical periods, including Classical Antiquity, Medieval Europe, the Renaissance, Enlightenment, and modern eras.
- Collaboration: Work closely with reviewers and peers to refine content, validate historical accuracy, and ensure scholarly rigor.
Ideal Candidates Should Have
- Education: Advanced degree in History, Classics, Philosophy, Art History, or a related humanities field.
- Experience: 2–6+ years of professional experience in teaching, research, or scholarly writing focused on Western civilization.
- Analytical Abilities: Excellent writing, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Experience with academic publishing or curriculum development is highly desired.
- Breadth of Knowledge: Strong familiarity with multiple periods and aspects of Western civilization, from ancient to modern.
Nice to Haves
- Expertise in classical languages (Latin, Ancient Greek) is a plus.
- Experience teaching survey courses in Western civilization or related subjects.
- Familiarity with historiography and historical methodology.
- Familiarity with generative AI models or machine learning concepts is a bonus, but not required.
More Details About This Role
- This is a remote and asynchronous role — work on your own schedule.
- Expect to contribute at least 20 hours per week.
- Expect a commitment of around 2 months.
- You'll be working in a structured project environment with clear goals and tools.
