Bilingual Latin American Studies Expert

datamochi is seeking experts in Latin American studies who are bilingual in Spanish and English. This role combines your deep knowledge of Latin American culture, history, and society with language mastery, helping train cutting-edge AI models in this diverse cultural domain.

You will leverage your scholarly expertise in Latin American studies, alongside your bilingual communication skills, to create accurate, culturally nuanced, and intellectually rigorous content that reflects the complexity of Latin American civilization.

Role Responsibilities

• Cultural Content Development: Analyze, translate, and synthesize complex cultural, historical, and social phenomena from Latin America, spanning pre-Columbian civilizations to contemporary society.
• Bilingual Communication: Write fluently in both Spanish and English, ensuring precise cultural terminology and nuanced expression across languages.
• Domain Expertise: Provide insights into Latin American history, literature, politics, indigenous cultures, colonial legacy, and contemporary social movements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with reviewers and peers to refine content, validate cultural accuracy, and ensure scholarly rigor.

Ideal Candidates Should Have

• Language Skills: Native or near-native fluency in Spanish with strong written and spoken English.
• Education: Advanced degree in Latin American Studies, Hispanic Studies, Anthropology, History, or a related field.
• Experience: 2–6+ years of professional experience in teaching, research, or cultural analysis focused on Latin America.
• Analytical Abilities: Excellent writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Experience with interdisciplinary research and cultural interpretation is highly desired.

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge of indigenous languages (Quechua, Nahuatl, Guaraní, etc.) is a plus.
• Familiarity with multiple Latin American regions and their distinct cultural characteristics.
• Experience with Latin American literature, film, or arts.
• Understanding of contemporary social and political issues in Latin America.
• Familiarity with generative AI models or machine learning concepts is a bonus, but not required.

More Details About This Role

• This is a remote and asynchronous role — work on your own schedule.
• Expect to contribute at least 20 hours per week.
• Expect a commitment of around 2 months.
• You'll be working in a structured project environment with clear goals and tools.
