datamochi is seeking native Mandarin Chinese speakers who are also scholars or professionals in Chinese culture and history. This role combines your cultural expertise with language mastery, helping train cutting-edge AI models in the domain of Chinese civilization.
You will leverage your background in Chinese culture, history, and traditions, alongside your bilingual communication skills, to create accurate, culturally nuanced, and intellectually precise content that reflects the richness of Chinese civilization.
Role Responsibilities
- Cultural Content Development: Analyze, translate, and synthesize complex cultural concepts, historical events, and traditional practices from Chinese civilization spanning ancient to contemporary periods.
- Bilingual Communication: Write fluently in both Mandarin Chinese and English, ensuring precise cultural terminology and nuanced expression across languages.
- Domain Expertise: Provide insights into Chinese history, philosophy, literature, art, social customs, and the cultural significance of traditions in Chinese-speaking regions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with reviewers and peers to refine content, validate cultural accuracy, and align outputs with scholarly standards.
Ideal Candidates Should Have
- Language Skills: Native-level fluency in Mandarin Chinese with strong written and spoken English.
- Education: Advanced degree in Chinese Studies, East Asian History, Sinology, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–6+ years of professional experience in teaching, research, translation, or cultural analysis focused on Chinese civilization.
- Analytical Abilities: Excellent writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Experience with scholarly research and cultural interpretation is highly desired.
Nice to Haves
- Knowledge of classical Chinese texts and literary traditions.
- Familiarity with regional variations in Chinese culture (mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, etc.).
- Experience with Chinese philosophy (Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism) is a plus.
- Familiarity with generative AI models or machine learning concepts is a bonus, but not required.
More Details About This Role
- This is a remote and asynchronous role — work on your own schedule.
- Expect to contribute at least 20 hours per week.
- Expect a commitment of around 2 months.
- You'll be working in a structured project environment with clear goals and tools.
